General Information
The Work Deployment Center was established in 2003. The facility permits qualified, non-violent, sentenced inmates to serve their sentence in
a minimum-security facility while being released during the day to work. The 384-bed facility helps to relieve overcrowding in the jail and
provides a structured living environment that prepares the individual to re-enter society. A primary objective for the Work Deployment Center
is to allow qualified inmates to be gainfully employed while serving their sentence. This facilitates the collection of victim restitution,
court order fines and child support in addition to allowing the inmate to meet other personal obligations. Participants must pay a board fee
and comply with a stringent set of rules and regulations while serving their sentence at the facility.
In order to qualify for the Work Release Program, inmates must pass a thorough background investigation. Careful consideration is given to both
current and past charges as well as any risk associated with the inmate being unsupervised during the work day. The inmate must successfully pass
a drug screen and consent to random drug and alcohol testing while in the program. Participants in the program must be gainfully employed and/or
enrolled in school or training classes.
