Volunteers
The Sheriff's Office implemented a program in 1996 to utilize an untapped resource
of the community. This vast resource consists of individuals that may be retired and
wish to contibute to their community through the Sheriff's Office.
We currently have approximately 40 volunteers contributing more than 1,000
hours per month. This represents a significant savings to the citizens of Cobb County and an
immense help to our agency.
Kimberly Norrell is assigned to the Field Operations Division and coordinates the volunteer program.
Volunteers serve the citizens of Cobb County in many ways. The following provides some example of the efforts to help:
Conduct visitation enrollment at the jail
Answer telephones and direct callers to appropriate area
Perform a variety of duties in the bonding area of the jail
Perform a variety of duties in the release area of the jail
Perform a variety of duties in the intake area of the jail
Perform clerical and data entry duties
