There are personnel, assigned to the Film Processing Section, responsible for the development and cataloguing of photographs. The Sheriff's Office has its own full service mini-lab. The agency personnel process film for the Evidence Tech Section, general photography for the Sheriff's Office, Cobb County Police Department, Cobb County Communications Department, Cobb County Code Enforcement, and many other county departments and city municipalities.
The Sheriff's Office employs a digital mugshot system. This captures the individual's photograph at the time of booking and stores the information on a computer. This affords our agency an indispensable tool providing quick search and retrieve times. This system also enables the unit to compose digital line-ups utilizing virtually any type of photo. This service is requested by other agencies across the state.
These personnel also provide local, state, and national criminal background checks for employment purposes. If you would like more information on obtaining a criminal background check, please click here.
